- on laptop, boot Virtual Network Sandbox from CDROM Note: we are looking for a place to distribute the CDROM - select video 600x800 32bit and USB mouse - set toolbar to auto hide (left click then right click) - in Fluxbox | Config menu, set to sloppy focus - in Fluxbox | Config menu, turn off workspace warping - start bash shell - Configure by mounting laptop disk and sourcing the config file: (you may need to edit the file if the embedded location is wrong) mount /mnt/hda4 vi /mnt/hda4/home/idallen/vns . /mnt/hda4/home/idallen/vns The config file will start all the UML machines. - login as root to each of the UML machines and source the same file: . /host/vns - see the notes in the vns config file - The file vns_virtuals.tar.gz contains the set of six virtual COW (copy on write) file systems for a running VNS system where I have sourced the vns config file in each of the six machines. If you expand that tar file in the $HOME/virtuals/ directory and then run the config script to start all six machines, the UML machines that start up will auto-configure when you log in as root (via $HOME/.profile).
